I began my career as a social worker helping individuals struggling with change. Seeing firsthand how the perception of situations influenced a person's growth and overall success, I attended a graduate program in conflict resolution where I learned how to negotiate and mediate. I used this newfound skill mediating B2B and B2C cases with the MA Attorney General's Office, the MA Court System, and the MA Community and Bank Council.
This experience led to a role as a consultant for a transportation authority that needed to change the commuting habits of 14,000 employees as they were contributing significantly to GHG emissions in the state. I conducted UX interviews with employees and transportation providers and negotiated agreements that led to additional transportation options. I was then given the opportunity to lead crisis communication and public engagement for a Federal Superfund program. Working with highly technical engineers and scientist, I helped them share information with the public in a way that promoted greater understanding and collaboration around hazardous waste cleanups. I further developed my skills in engaging stakeholders, while leading strategic planning for an environmental agency and efforts to improve the New England Region’s influence on EPA’s decision making in Washington. Recognized for my strengths in engaging stakeholders and leading change, I became part of the team responsible for developing the strategy for internal organizational change initiatives as well as those involving external stakeholders. During this period, I was asked to share my experience with MIT entrepreneurs seeking innovative solutions to global challenges. I worked with successful executives across the US, hand-picked by MIT, to provide advice and feedback on novel approaches to real-world challenges. I continued my work coaching executives and entrepreneurs and have served as a Judge in multiple business competitions, including MassChallenge and CleanTech Open. I started my own executive coaching and business consulting practice in 2015 and have not turned back. I continue to evolve and broaden my practice and encourage continued growth for the leaders and companies for which I coach.
